About Us

Ebony Network is a community for women of color who are ready to believe bigger, build together, and create lasting success; without doing it alone.

The E.B.O.N.Y. Principle is the lens through which we build community, create opportunities, and protect the wellbeing of women of color in business. Each letter is a promise we make to ourselves and each other.

The Philosophy

As an entrepreneur and business owner, I often wondered where to find the wisdom, people, support, and inspiration needed to bridge gaps: between suffering and surrendering, between isolation and belonging, or between solutions and success.

We believe our philosophy, The E.B.O.N.Y. Principle, is the great connector for all those gaps. E.B.O.N.Y. is an acronym for Empowerment, Belief, Opportunity, Networking, and You. By focusing on all these critical aspects of business and life, you will create the balance you need to do great things in your business, translating directly to BIG SUCCESS!

As women, we cannot do it alone; we simply aren’t designed that way. Nobody succeeds in a vacuum, anyway. Even the most brilliant women and the best creators and motivators all have people.

Here in the Ebony Network, you will find…

TEACHERS & MENTORS… who will show you the way, help to course correct, and hopefully avoid missteps.

CRUSADERS …who will hold you accountable when you most want to bail out. When things get hard—which inevitably happens right before our next big move—they provide the motivation and inspiration you need to continue acting in spite of obstacles.

WOMEN WHO UNDERSTAND…peers who are building their own dreams alongside you, sharing in the emotions, questions, struggles, and triumphs that bond us together.

A SAFE PLACE… Where you can drop the façade, get real, and grow around genuine, transparent, uplifting relationships and aspirations, all without fear of disrespect, degradation, or condemnation.

Our Story

This network is something that founder, Nicole Thompson, has wanted to do for a long time. She recognized the acute need for a group where women of color could network, share ideas, generate leads, create amazing results, and grow their businesses in an environment that was understanding, safe, encouraging, and populated with kindred spirits who share similar obstacles and stories.

She envisioned the group as being exclusive and inclusive at the same time. Nicole set out to find an already established organization that provided this unique environment, but her search came up with no results. So, she decided to make it happen herself… and the Ebony Network was born!

Founder

The question was how she would do that. She figured it out, and today she owns several businesses: an HOA management company, a personal image and style consultancy, a marketing firm, and a legal document preparation service. Although all of these are totally different and may seem disconnected to others, she makes it work because each business feeds a different side of her personality and passions. It’s the perfect marriage! Since she is an expert in time and project management, her time gets divided seamlessly amongst her business passions, and nothing slips through the cracks.

Nicole has been in the community and project management industry for over 30 years. After taking classes to learn about money and creating wealth, she quickly realized that having only one job—one source of income—was not the way to go when wanting to truly build a wealth legacy for herself and her family. That is when she knew she needed to create more streams of income.

In creating and growing these businesses, she wanted a place to go for inspiration and motivation, but the typical networking organizations just weren’t cutting it for her. She also realized she wanted to surround herself with more like-minded women of color because they share a deep understanding of the special set of obstacles that women like her can experience in business.

Next Steps…

This is not your typical networking organization.  Join us to see why!
